Strawberry Picking in Oregon

Well, we’ve made it to the States, and have had several adventures so far.  On Thursday we decided to go strawberry picking at Kruger’s Farm in Portland, Oregon.  The boys had a blast!  We started our visit looking at a tractor at the farm. The boys have been in such a big tractor phase, and I think this is the first time they’ve been able to get close to one.

After that, we picked up a box to put strawberries in and headed to the field.  Nathaniel was such a cutie and decided that he needed to carry the box!  Note the bucket hat in action!

We spent about an hour picking strawberries.  The boys do a great job at it.  They can take the direction of only picking the red ones most of the time.  I think we ended up with 12 green strawberries total.  They also ended up eating a ton of strawberries!  I couldn’t believe Malcolm would eat the strawberry, leaves and all!

It was a great experience.  I’m looking forward to when we go back to Ireland.  We did some strawberry picking last year in Tipperary where the plants were elevated!  I’d love to go back there.  Saves the back!
